Who we are

Information we handle

We handle information you provide to use the service, including your email address, display name, account and sign-in information, game questions, predictions, notes, results, dates, time-zone choices, and participation details. If you make a purchase, we receive records needed to provide credits and support the transaction, such as payment status and a transaction reference.

We record your account ID, the terms version you accept, the time of acceptance, and the entry point where you accept, to document our agreement. This is not consent to marketing. We also handle information created through use of the service, such as invitation and game activity, support messages, and security or service records. You may provide information about other people in a game; only do so when you have permission and when it is appropriate to share it.

Why we use it

We use information to create and operate accounts and games; let participants submit and view information at the right time; send service messages; provide purchased credits; protect the service and investigate misuse; respond to support requests; and meet legal, accounting, and security obligations.

Games and sharing

Games are designed for the people a host invites. Invitation links can be forwarded, and someone with a valid link may be able to join before the game deadline, subject to the game’s settings and limits. Before a game opens, access controls are intended to limit sealed answers to the person who submitted them. When it opens, authorized participants can view the revealed material. Participants may copy, share, or save material outside WhoGuessed.

WhoGuessed is not an end-to-end encrypted document vault. Do not put passwords, financial account numbers, government identifiers, health information, or other highly sensitive information in a game.

Service providers and disclosures

We use service providers to run WhoGuessed: Vercel for hosting, Supabase for authentication and database services, Stripe for checkout and payment processing, Resend for game email delivery, and Google if you choose Google sign-in. These providers process information as needed to provide their services. Stripe handles payment-card details in checkout; do not send card details to WhoGuessed support.

Hosting, authentication, email, and payment providers may create technical logs while their services are used. Those logs can include information such as IP address, browser or device details, request times, and service events. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, or legal rights.

Service diagnostics

To find broken buttons, slow requests and delivery problems, we record limited technical events: page category, action category, request status, duration, mobile or desktop layout, and software version. These events do not include your answers, email address, passwords, invitation links or full page URLs. Random operation identifiers connect the stages of an action and are not stored in browser storage. We retain these diagnostic events for 14 days. We use short-lived, hashed network identifiers to limit abuse of this endpoint. Hosting providers may separately process network addresses in their service logs. These diagnostics are for operating and securing WhoGuessed, not advertising profiles.

Optional advertising measurement

If you choose Accept in our cookie controls, we use the Reddit Pixel to measure visits and successful game creation from our advertising. Reddit can receive browser and device information, your IP address, the page address, event type, and cookie or advertising-click identifiers. We do not send your email address, phone number, game question, guess, or invitation link as event data, and we do not load the Pixel on private invitation or game pages. Automatic email, phone, and page-metadata collection is disabled in our Pixel configuration.

Advertising measurement is optional and separate from accepting our Terms. Choose Decline to continue without it, or use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice. We remember this choice for up to 180 days and honor Global Privacy Control. Browser blockers or declining cookies may prevent advertising events from being measured. Browser storage

WhoGuessed uses browser storage needed to keep a signed-in session and preserve an unfinished answer while you sign in. Providers may also use cookies or similar technologies as part of delivering their services. Sign out and clear browser data when using a shared device.

Email choices

You can stop game notifications using the unsubscribe link in those emails. This does not delete your account or game participation. Account-security and payment messages may still be needed to provide the service. For help with email preferences, contact support@whoguessed.com.

Retention

We keep information for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate active accounts and games, provide the service, resolve support or safety issues, meet legal and accounting obligations, protect against fraud or abuse, and enforce or defend legal claims. Retention can differ by information type. Copies may remain in backups or provider systems until they are replaced or removed through normal operational processes.

Your requests

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, contact support@whoguessed.com from the relevant account email when possible. Tell us what you are requesting, but do not send passwords or payment-card information. We may need information to verify your identity or authority. We consider requests under applicable law and may retain information when needed for legitimate security, transaction, legal, or other permitted purposes. Removing information from our service cannot remove copies that other people already made outside it.

Young people

WhoGuessed is for people age 13 and older. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the service. Only adults may make purchases or enter partnerships with WhoGuessed. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact support@whoguessed.com.

International use

WhoGuessed is operated in the United States and our providers may process information in other locations. Privacy laws can provide different rights depending on where you live. You may contact us with a privacy request, and we will handle it as required by applicable law.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the service or our practices change. We will post the updated notice here and change its effective date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
